Serengeti National Park
Discover the Endless Plains of Africa’s Greatest Wildlife Sanctuary
Serengeti National Park is Tanzania’s most iconic safari destination and one of the best places in Africa to witness nature in its rawest form. Covering over 14,750 square kilometers of open savannah, acacia woodland, and riverine forests, the Serengeti is home to an incredible diversity of wildlife, including the Big Five – lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino.
The park is world-renowned for the Great Wildebeest Migration, where over 2 million wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles move across the plains in search of fresh grazing. This breathtaking spectacle is considered one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa and occurs year-round as the herds travel in a circular route through the Serengeti and into Kenya’s Maasai Mara.
Apart from the migration, Serengeti offers year-round game viewing with abundant predators like cheetahs, hyenas, jackals, and crocodiles along the Grumeti and Mara Rivers. Bird enthusiasts will enjoy spotting over 500 bird species, including ostriches, secretary birds, and vultures.
